IN-HOUSE PHYSIOTHERAPY DEPARTMENT
We are delighted to be able to provide our students with an on site Chartered Physiotherapist and Acupuncture Therapist. Danny has completed an extensive number of post-graduate courses in manual therapy, as well as courses related to running injuries, osteopathy, therapeutic exercise, kinesio taping and injury prevention.
Born and raised in Dartford/Bexley, he has been attempting to escape for many years (Australia Gold Coast, Lyme Regis, Herne Bay), however, like Dorothy, he has finally come to realise there is no place like home!
Danny began by playing semi-professional football , however an injury cut short a promising career. He ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and had three separate operations to repair this but all unsuccessful. Despite this Danny has recently returned to football by successfully rehabbing himself. He now knows better than anyone how to turn failure into success!
He combines, physiotherapy, acupuncture, deep tissue massage, osteopathy, kinesio taping and a detailed home exercise programme to produce great results. However, the real skill in getting such outstanding results lies in communication. He worked for a number of years as a London Paramedic, where his natural rapport and desire to help others set him apart.
Danny also believes we need to nourish our minds as well as our bodies to get maximum results. So has taken courses in mindfulness and meditation relaxation techniques to educate himself. Acupuncture is especially helpful here.
When not fixing the broken, Danny loves to run, jump and swim. Having completed the London Marathon 2016 & five Mudstacles (20KM runs over 25 obstacles) he is now in training for the Spartan Beast in October!
Danny is available to all Gillham School of Performing Arts students and any member of their immediate family.
